RAM Service Intervals
The suggested RAM maintenance schedule is based on the number of miles you’ve driven or the number of months that have elapsed since your last service. You can use either of these benchmarks to determine what maintenance services your truck needs. Here are the automaker-endorsed RAM service intervals.
Every Month and Prior to Major Road Trips
- Check engine oil
- Check windshield washer fluid
- Check tire pressure
- Look for unusual wear or damage
- Check all other fluid levels, including coolant, brake, and transmission fluid
- Test interior/exterior lights
Every 8,000 Miles or Six Months
- Change the engine oil and engine oil filter
- Rotate the tires
- Inspect the exhaust, battery terminals, brake pads, and door latches
Every 16,000 Miles or 12 Months
- Change the engine oil and engine oil filter
- Rotate the tires
- Replace engine air filter if you frequently off-road or drive in dusty environments
- Replace the air conditioning filter, if equipped
- Inspect and replace the brake linings, if necessary
- Check the exhaust system
- Inspect the front suspension, tie rod ends, and boot seals for cracks or leaks and all parts for damage, wear, loose connections, and end play. Replace parts as necessary.
Every 24,000 Miles or 18 Months
- Change the engine oil and engine oil filter
- Rotate the tires.
- Inspect the CV joints.
- Check the exhaust system
Every 32,000 Miles or 24 Months

- Replace the air conditioning filter, if equipped

- Replace the air conditioning filter, if equipped
- Inspect and replace the brake linings, if necessary

- Replace the spark plugs if you have a 2.4L or 3.6L engine
- Inspect and replace the PCV valve, if necessary
Every 104,000 Miles or 78 Months
- Change the engine oil and engine oil filter
- Rotate the tires
- Flush and replace the engine coolant if it hasn’t been done in the last 60 months.
Every 120,000 or 150,000 Miles
- If your RAM truck has four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, inspect the transfer case fluid.
- At 150,000 miles, have the transfer case fluid replaced.
- Check and replace all other vehicle fluids, especially coolant.
