New Campaign Takes Chrysler 300 to Gotham City

The 2012 Chrysler 300 might not be the equivalent of the Batmobile, but it can sure hold its own in Gotham City. For the launch of the final film in the Dark Knight Trilogy, "The Dark Knight Rises," Chrysler and Warner Bros. have come up with an innovative campaign that pins the Chrysler 300 in the dark and brooding Gotham City world.

What's unique about this initiative however, is that the commercial won't be shot by seasoned professionals. Instead, Chrysler has called upon enthusiastic fans. Dubbed, "Imported from Gotham City," the campaign plays on the automaker's famous "Imported from Detroit" TV spot and gives enthusiasts the chance to film their own ad.

The requirements? Participants must use footage of the Chrysler 300 as well as engaging music and clips from the Dark Knight movie. All entries will be viewed and judged by the Dark Knight Director, Christopher Nolan, himself. In the end, the winner will have his or her film creation debuted on public television around the movie's release at the end of July.

Of the starring new Chrysler vehicle, Saad Chehab, Chrysler Brand CEO, says, "The 2012 Chrysler 300 featured in this marketing and advertising campaign was created intentionally to look as if it could be driven on the streets and fit in to the nightlife of Gotham City; it's clearly a vehicle that stands out and makes one take notice."1
