Jeep Pickup Expected to Arrive in 2015

We all know Jeep to be an excellent producer of SUV's, but not many people think of Jeep when it comes to pickup trucks?yet.

News has finally broken that Jeep will be creating a pickup truck which will be available to the public in 2015.

Fans of the Jeep Wrangler will be happy to know that the pickup truck, which was originally a concept, is going to be modeled after the Wrangler.

In fact, because the truck is taking cues from the Wrangler it is being delayed due to the re-make of the Wrangler. "It is too late in Wrangler's product cycle to add a pickup. The 2015 or 2016 time frame makes more sense," Jeep CEO Michael Manley said at the Frankfurt Motor Show. "That's when we will refresh the Wrangler."1

True Jeep enthusiasts will remember the Jeep Comanche, the last time Jeep had a pickup truck. That truck, based on the Cherokee, was produced from 1986 until 1992. It wasn't until September of 2010 that rumors of a new Jeep truck started to circulate.

A JK-8 body kit was available from Mopar, Jeep's official parts marker, for $5499 during that time. 300 kits were sold, and included pickup bed floor, body panels, fiberglass cap and a bulkhead.

While we patiently await the Jeep truck, come down to Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge on 2425 W. Camelback Road in Phoenix, AZ to check out all the latest Jeep vehicles today.
