President Hails Jeep, American Auto Industry

After Chrysler Group LLC repaid the majority of its government loans, and the same day Fiat became majority owner of the company with $500 million for the government's remaining stake in Chrysler, President Obama came to the Toledo, Ohio plant to praise workers, and the American auto industry.

The plant, which has built some of Jeep's most well known models, including Jeep Liberty and Jeep Wrangler, honored the Commander in Chief's visit with much fanfare.

However, President Barack Obama arrived at the Toledo Jeep plant amid bad economic news, but added the industry is getting back on its feet after its 2009 bailout, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.1

To a group of enthusiastic auto workers, Obama said because of them, "we can once again say that the best cars in the world are built right here in the U.S. of A., right here in Ohio, right here in the Midwest."
