Jeep Wrangler Surges In Popularity

One of the top selling Jeep models to date has been the tough and affordable Jeep Wrangler, available in 2 and 4 door versions at Bill Luke Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Phoenix, AZ. One of the reasons, many suspect, behind Wrangler's popularity is its durability, along with an old school ruggedness you just don't find in many autos these days.

Jeep Wrangler's styling hasn't changed much from the vehicle's World War II heritage. Its off-road capable and simple options have caused it to receive a 28% increase in US sales for 2011, over 100,000 units sold.

Some of Wrangler's attention grabbing features are the removable doors, soft or hard top roof, and four-wheel drive capability. In fact, 2012 models offer no two-wheel drive to speak of. At a starting price of $22,845, the 2012 Wrangler is a wager you can bet on.

Wrangler Rubicon hits the 60 mph time at 8.3 seconds, with its 285-horsepower V6. Torque peaks at 260 foot-pounds,10 foot-pounds more than last year. Official fuel mileage is around 16-17 mpg combined, with an EPA estimate of 17 miles per gallon city, 21 mpg on the highway.

As the Associated Press reports, "During the test Wrangler with gusto, I averaged just 16 mpg in combined city/highway travel." You'll get plenty of towing power and performance out of the 2012 Wrangler.1
